Devlog 4

I came across some Pinterest picture of this little Groot-like character with a flower hat that really sparked my interest and it made me think about going smaller than humans. It felt really cute and cozy to focus on small creatures and it satisfied my desire to not draw and animate humans which I don’t have much practice in. I traced over the character I found on Pinterest and finally got an idea I was happy going towards, flowers. I made a Pinterest board with all similar things of flowers and looked at possible art styles I could attempt to mimic and adapt. One style which I loved the feel and look of was Studio Ghibli that felt like a huge inspiration. Specifically, I looked at Arrierity and how they play with the scale of small humans and the garden which I would love to recreate. I continued with more random sketches in search of the two characters that would be perfect.
